Kimberly Sewell will be the 2026 SMOL Artist in Residence. She will be in residence from May until October of 2026 and her time here will culminate in a solo show during the month of November. Kimberly is exploring the theme of “Home” and how physical space and emotional landscape both play a part in how we define what home means to us. You can see a selection of Kimberly’s work on display outside her studio on the second floor of the Cottonwood Arts Center anytime during Cottonwood’s open hours and you can schedule directly with Kimberly to get a tour of the studio and a sneak peek at the work for her upcoming show as well as make arrangements to purchase existing work.
SMOL: AiR at Cottonwood
Cottonwood Center for the Arts is beyond thrilled to unveil our newest creative opportunity for artists: SMOL - The tiniest artist residency, ever.
What is SMOL?
SMOL is an artist in residence program.
Each residency spans a six month period, during which time the artist has 24 hr exclusive access to the space.
During this time the artist is expected to produce the works detailed in the artists’ original proposal. This body of work will be featured in one of our main galleries as a solo exhibition at the close of the artist residency.
